UCT Technologies – is a new Russian startup, kindly supported by the Skolkovo Foundation. Our current focus is the umbilical coiled tubing (UCT) solutions for the oil & gaz industry. We have improved and developed a few new products which may allow optimizing the existing service and technological operations on the well. We think this technology is underestimated and believe that there are plenty of room for further improvements.
Our solution has several key advantages in comparison with the existing and working solutions over the globe. In brief they are as follows:
- welding seams, partitions and clamps are located on “the zero line” of tension of the reeled-up UCT
- weight and hydraulic efforts are separated — the weight of UCT is shifted to partitions and clamps, where the pipe channel perceives only the internal pressure of gas or liquid
- reliable capture and deduction of UCT in an injector and elevators
- possibility of using different radiuses and grades of steel for the stretched and compressed parts of UCT
- possibility of using cheaper grades of steel and strip thickness (in comparison with UCT products from the existing vendors)
- broader opportunities of using in mining scanarios
At the moment we have already received some of the patents across the globe and continue our investigations in this field. Our next steps are prototypes creation and performance testing with further production and manufacturing cycles.
